About Dr. Grado


Dr. Gordon Grado, MD, a top-rated leader in medicine for over 30 years, has developed a specially-formulated line of supplements, originally designed to improve the health of his patients, but is now available to the general public. With more than 30 years treating patients with cancer, serving as a Chairperson at the Mayo Clinic, and leading pioneer in the field of   Radiation and Brachytherapy, Dr. Grado is an expert in his field.



Dr. Grado is originally from the midwest, having grown up in Iowa and Illinois. After completing his medical education at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, he went on to an Internship at the University of Chicago and subsequently finished his Residency in Therapeutic Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He went on to practice in Radiation Oncology (Therapeutic Radiology) in Nebraska and later Iowa before being recruited to establish and become Chair of the Radiation Oncology Department at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he worked for almost 10 years. While at Mayo Clinic, he worked to develop an internationally recognized cancer treatment program involving fluoroscopic and ultrasound image guided brachytherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer. He traveled extensively around the world helping to train and develop prostate brachytherapy programs throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and North, Central, and South America.

A World Leader in Medicine

In 1998, Dr. Grado left Mayo Clinic to become the Medical Director of Southwest Oncology Centers and was later recruited to become an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. He was named the Wurtele Professor of Therapeutic Radiology  and Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota in 2005. Because of his work in prostate brachytherapy, he is recognized as a worldwide leader in this medical arena and has been recognized as one of the top Radiation Oncologists and Brachytherapist for more than 30 years. In fact, Dr. Grado has become a Fellow in both the ACRO (American College of Radiation Oncology) and the prestigious ACR (American College of Radiology) and was recently named as one of the top 1% of Radiation Oncologists in the USA as selected by his peers and reported in the US News and World Report for 2012.


Over his career, Dr. Gordon L Grado has established or assisted in establishing 14 radiation therapy and brachytherapy centers and is currently involved in six of his own radiation therapy and oncology clinics in the USA and Latin America. His international practice treats patients from across the US and around the world. Dr. Grado also established a series of the most advanced radiation therapy facilities featuring the latest in cutting edge techologies and trained supporting personnel with dedicated TomoTherapy centers, the most advanced treatment imaging, tumor contouring, and robot-assisted centers. This has allowed his Southwest Oncology Centers to not only treat and manage all types and stages of cancers, but has specialized in treating the more difficult tumors. As a result, Southwest Oncology Centers has become an international referral center for the more difficult tumor stages and recurrent disease.
